profilesI first got into juicing back in 2000 when I lived in California. I initially tried some wheat grass shots at a Jamba Juice. Since then I have experimented  with a few different types of juicers and juice recipes.

Eleven years later I was watching Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead on Netflix. Having developed a tummy from too much burgers, pizza and beer; I decided to do something about it. Joe Cross’s movie was the right information for me at the right time.

I went on an extended juice fast for seven weeks after watching his wonderful and selfless movie.

During that time, I experienced the following things:

  • Rapid weight loss
  • Significant reduction in bad cholesterol
  • Significant increase in good cholesterol
  • Major decrease in triglycerides
  • Major decrease in heart ratios – warning signs for heart attacks
  • More self confidence
  • New passion for life

I never expected my friends and family to follow this blog. It was motivating to see their reactions to the healthy improvements in my life. I typically do not like to write, and the relationship with this blog is of love and hate. You can probably see this towards the later part of the blog. I skipped juices…sometimes only consuming 25 ounces of juice in one day. I did many things right, and a few things wrong.

I can honestly say the following things about food and fueling the body.

  1. Calories Count – The food you consume is directly proportional to how you feel and your energy levels.
  2. Sugary Drinks & Sodas Are Killing Us – Sugar and sugary drinks are bad for you and make you fat.
  3. Protein is Overrated – I consumed only fruit and vegetable juice for 56 days. I didn’t die…I felt reborn!
  4. Vegetables Are Underrated – Eat more green leafy vegetables and consume fresh green juice as much as possible.
